What happens if my tutor cancels a session?
It’s rare, but occasionally your tutoring specialist may need to cancel a scheduled session due to illness, scheduling conflicts, or emergencies. When this happens, we want to make the process as seamless for you as possible.
Here’s what happens if your tutor cancels:
- We will try to assign a substitute. If we are able to, we will assign a substitute to fill in for that lesson. While we do our best to let families know if we have to assign substitutes, it also depends on how much notice we have. Rest assured, we will only provide a substitute who is qualified to support your student in whatever subject they are working on.

You won’t be charged. If a session is canceled by your tutoring specialist and we are unable to provide a substitute, it will not be deducted from your balance or invoiced.

We’ll reach out to reschedule. Our team will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a new time that works for you.

If your tutoring specialist is unavailable long-term, we’ll work with you to assign a new tutor and ensure a smooth handoff, with time built in for your student to get acquainted.
