If I arrive late to a session, will the missed time be made up?

We know things don’t always go according to plan — traffic, tech issues, or family schedules sometimes cause students to arrive late.

Here’s how we handle late arrivals, why we follow this policy, and what you can do if you're running behind.

Sessions begin and end at the scheduled time

Out of fairness to all families and tutors:

  • Sessions begin and end at the originally scheduled time, even if a student arrives late

  • Missed time will not be added to the end of the session or rescheduled later, unless the delay was caused by Frontier Tutoring (e.g., technical issues on our end)

  • Tutors will stay in the session and ready to start for at least 15 minutes from the scheduled start time

This policy helps ensure that tutors can stay on time for back-to-back sessions and maintain predictable schedules for all students.

What if the tutor is late?

If your tutor is delayed:

  • You’ll receive the full length of the session once it begins

  • If your tutor cannot stay later due to another commitment, we will credit the missed time towards a future lesson or schedule a makeup at no cost to you

Tips for avoiding time loss

To help your student make the most of each session:

  • For online lessons: Log in 5–10 minutes early to troubleshoot tech or audio issues
  • For in-person lessons: Plan to arrive 5-10 minute early to account for traffic and unexpected delays.
  • Have materials ready before the session starts (e.g., homework, notes, calculator)
  • Let us know if you’re running late, so we can notify the tutor
